No Contradiction in Land Allocation Statistics under the Youthful Population Law

There is no contradiction in the statistics provided by the National Land and Housing Organization regarding land allocations under the Youthful Population Law. The differences stem from varying indicators and the scope of data presented.

According to the Public Relations Office of the National Land and Housing Organization, in response to a recent media report claiming conflicting figures related to land distribution under the Youthful Population Law, such claims are categorically denied.

Firstly, it is important to emphasize that there is no discrepancy between the statistics presented by Ali Nabian, Managing Director, and Taghi Rezaei, Board Member of the National Land and Housing Organization. The variation lies in the type of metrics used and the statistical range referenced.

Based on the latest official figures from the Organization, a total of 47,116 land parcels have been allocated under the Law on Family Support and Youthful Population since its implementation, covering an area exceeding 874 hectares. These figures are consistent with Mr. Nabian’s statements during the land allocation ceremony held in South Khorasan Province. It is also noteworthy that over 16,000 parcels—approximately 36 percent—have been allocated during the 14th Administration.

On the other hand, the data presented by Mr. Rezaei pertain to the total land allocated by the Organization across all national housing initiatives, including the National Housing Movement, housing for vulnerable groups, housing for special populations, as well as the Youthful Population Law. He correctly noted that more than 46,000 hectares of land have been allocated for these programs in total, a significant portion of which is currently undergoing preparation and final allocation processes. The land allocated under the Youthful Population Law is part of this broader dataset.

The National Land and Housing Organization, while recognizing the essential role of the media in conveying the government’s services to the public, expresses hope that greater care will be taken in reporting specialized statistical data to prevent misinterpretation and public misunderstanding.
